The enclosure invention includes lower and upper parallel rectangular structural units each composed of a pair of parallel stringers at opposite sides thereof and a pair of parallel crosspieces at opposite ends thereof. A plurality of uprights extend between the lower and upper structural units for maintaining the units in a spaced parallel relationship relative to each other such that the lower and upper structural units and the uprights together define a hollow containment for the bathtub. Each crosspiece or each stringer is composed of a pair of outer segments and a central segment disposed between the outer segments. The central segment can be replaced by selectively longer or shorter central segments for varying the width or length of the enclosure. The components of the enclosure may be produced in a factory and shipped as a kit to where a bathtub is to be located.
