There is provided a bedrest (10) including an inflatable bladder (16), a compressor assembly (30) and a microprocessor based controller (20) for inflating and deflating the bladder. The compressor assembly (30) includes a housing having an air intake (36), a motor (40) and a centrifugal blower (38) for passing air into a valve assembly (44). When inflating, the air passes under pressure through the centrifugal blower, past the motor and through a check valve into the valve assembly and through air outlet (46) that is connected to an air supply tube (17, 18). The microprocessor based controller enables an individual to inflate or deflate the bladder to any desired amount with a simple control. In addition, the hand controlled microprocessor permits computer programming so that the mattress can be automatically raised and lowered to different levels during different periods of time. The bladder (15) contains an interior baffle (21) which extend for primarily the length of the bladder fixed to interior walls of the bladder to form an inverse triangle inverse to the triangle formation of the bladder when inflated. The interior blaffle thereof enables the structure to form more precisely into the desired triangular shape in order to perform a more effective position when inserted under the mattress in the head location of the bed.
L'invention concerne un appui-dos (10) comprenant une vessie gonflable (16), un ensemble compresseur (30) et un contrôleur utilisant un microprocesseur (20) permettant de gonfler et de dégonfler la vessie. L'ensemble compresseur (30) comporte un boîtier ayant une admission d'air (36), un moteur (40), et un ventilateur centrifuge (38) permettant le passage de l'air dans un ensemble clapet (44). Lors du gonflage, l'air passe sous pression à travers le ventilateur centrifuge, traverse le moteur et un clapet de non retour pour atteindre l'ensemble clapet, puis s'écoule à travers la sortie d'air (46) connectée à un tube d'acheminement d'air (17, 18). Le contrôleur utilisant un microprocesseur permet à un individu de gonfler ou de dégonfler la vessie jusqu'à atteindre une quantité souhaitée à l'aide d'une simple commande. Par ailleurs, le microprocesseur commandé manuellement permet la programmation d'un ordinateur de manière que le matelas puisse être élevé et abaissé automatiquement à différents niveaux pendant des périodes de temps différentes. La vessie (15) contient un déflecteur interne (21) s'étendant sur la longueur de la vessie et fixé sur les parois internes de la vessie afin de former un triangle inverse par rapport à la configuration triangulaire de la vessie une fois gonflée. Le déflecteur interne permet à la structure de prendre la configuration triangulaire souhaitée avec plus de précision afin d'atteindre une position plus efficace sous le matelas à l'emplacement du chevet du lit.
