A cable manager for guiding a plurality of telecommunications cables is disclosed. The manager comprises a cable stay suitable for mounting to a wall in the vicinity of, for example, one or more cross connect assemblies. In one embodiment the cable manager comprises a back plate, a cable stay comprising a cable guide support attached to the back plate, a cable guide comprising a retaining disk attached at one end which is slideably mounted to the cable guide support and a mechanism for fixing movement of the cable guide relative to the cable guide support. In an alternative embodiment the cable stay is comprised of a supporting portion, one or more stackable intermediate portions and a retaining portion.
