The invention comprises an adjustable cover for a fiberglass reinforced water treatment pressure vessel or tank. This type of vessel is commercially availableand typically used on water softening units, water conditioning units or water filtration units. The adjustable cover comprises a rectangular sheet of styrene or other suitable material with a foam lining bonded to one side. The adjustable cover is formed by rolling the plastic sheet into a cylinder and then joining the mating edges by inserting a plurality of tabs on one edge of the sheet into a corresponding plurality of slots on the opposite and substantially parallel edge. The adjustable cover structure is formed when the tabs are inserted into the slots. In a second embodiment of the adjustable cover, a first edge is inserted into a pocket formed near the opposite substantially parallel edge. In both embodiments, the inner diameter of the cover can be adjusted to fit pressure vessels having varying diameters from unit to unit as well as pressure vessels having varying diameters from the top portion of the vessel to the bottom portion of the same vessel. The attachment of the mating edges according to this invention allows the diameter of the adjustable cover to vary and thus fit each individualtank snugly and securely. An optional cap is placed over the top of the pressurevessel once the adjustable cover has been installed.
