The Adjustable Crutch is a device that allows the center foot of a standard pair of crutches to rotate, providing a walking and climbing length. A bracket and pin convert a standard crutch from one height to another. The bracket is attached to and pivots on one of the two legs of the crutch. In its closed position, the bracket extends across both supporting legs and the center foot, locking the foot in either its walking or climbing position. An axle pin extends through each leg and the foot and serves as the point of the foot's 180° rotation. The location of the axle pin on the foot determines the crutch's walking and climbing heights. When shortened, the Adjustable Crutch allows the user to climb stairs with his or her body weight in a natural, safe, forward inclination. Adjustable Crutch components can be incorporated in the original manufacture of a crutch or added as an accessory to standard, fixed-length crutches.
