An adjustable cutting mechanism for mounting on an extruder. The cutting mechanism incorporates a square stock blade holder (452) that is axially adjustable and holds a shortened cutting blade (454). The axial adjustment allows for uniform contact of the cutting mechanism blades with an associated extruder die surface (114). A shorter blade, along with the adjustability of the mechanism for contact with the die face, prevents deflection of the cutting blade and, thereby, insures the precise cutting action needed for the product to maintain shape integrity.

Le mécanisme de coupe réglable comprend un support de lame carré (452) réglable axialement et servant de support à une lame de coupe raccourcie (454). Le réglage axial permet un contact uniforme entre les lames du mécanisme de coupe et une surface correspondante de filière d'extrudeuse (114). L'utilisation d'une lame plus courte permet non seulement de régler le mécanisme pour assurer le contant avec la face de tuyère mais empêche aussi la déflexion de la lame de coupe en assurant ainsi la précision du découpage, nécessaire pour préserver l'intégrité de la forme du produit.
