A gas regulator comprises an actuator and a valve body, wherein the actuator includes a valve disc with a cylindrical shroud that extends beyond the valve disc to direct the flow of fluid through the regulator toward the outlet of the valve and away from the actuator. This configuration advantageously reduces the amount of pressure drop experienced by the actuator during normal operation, thereby minimizing a phenomenon known as "droop." At least in one embodiment, the shroud can be adjustable and/or removable to allow the regulator to be tuned for specific applications.

Un régulateur à gaz comprend un actionneur et un corps de soupape, l'actionneur comprenant un disque de soupape doté d'une enveloppe cylindrique qui s'étend au delà du disque de soupape pour diriger le flux de fluide à travers le régulateur en direction de l'orifice de sortie de la soupape et à distance de l'actionneur. Cette configuration permet de réduire de manière avantageuse la quantité de chute de pression que connaît l'actionneur pendant un fonctionnement normal, ce qui permet de minimiser un phénomène connu sous le nom d'"affaissement". Au moins dans un mode de réalisation, l'enveloppe peut s'ajuster et/ou être retirée pour permettre au régulateur d'être accordé pour des applications spécifiques.
