- 7 - ADJUSTABLE DISPLAY DEVICE AND COMPONENTS THEREFOR ABSTRACT This invention relates to a display device incorporating a carrier (10) which is a push or snap fit on a support facia (18), the carrier, in one embodiment, comprising a hollow open back tile having a display face (12) including a display area (26) defined by a pair of spaced apertures (24,) and a self-coiling information-bearing strip (28) having thereon a series of characters located an the carrier so that the strip passes through each pair of aperture (24) so as to render visible in the display area (26) an uncoiled portion (28c) of the strip (28), the strip having its coiled ends located within the tile (10) behind the display face (12) and being mounted for slidable adjustment with respect to the tile so that the characters may be sequentially displayed in the display area (26).
