A pipe insert (10) which in use is to provide a connection between spaced pipe ends (11), the insert having at least two ends, the pipe insert being adjustable to be able to vary the relative displacement between the ends, each end having connecting means (12) adapted to provide a sealing interconnection between that end and the respective pipe end. A method of connecting at least two pipe ends is also claimed.
