ADJUSTABLE ORBITAL RECIPROCATING SAW Abstract of the Disclosure The jigsaw has a drive gear carrying an eccentrically mounted drive pin forming part of a Scotch-yoke mechanism for reciprocating the plunger and bladeholder along a generally longitudinal axis. The plunger is held by a pair of spaced swivel bearings; the lower bearing mounted to the housing while the upper bearing is mounted for oscillatory movement in a bearing carriage. Drive means synchronized to the reciprocal motion of the plunger urge oscillatory movement of the bearing carriage and upper bearing thereby causing orbital motion of the blade. A knob on the top of the housing adjustably limits or inhibits the oscillatory movement of the bearing carriage thereby permitting ready and convenient adjustment of the orbital blade motion.
