Disclosed is an adjustable prop assembly for upwardly holding plants. The assembly includes elongated sections detachably connectable end to end to form a vertical prop, and a height adjustable support detachably insertable onto and slidable along the prop. The height adjustable support includes fixation elements fixing the support to the prop at a given height, and an attachment element connected to the fixation elements for attaching the plant to the support. The adjustable prop assembly may also be used in combination with a prop supporting device which rigidly holds the adjustable prop assembly when it is driven into a ground mixture in a container.
