ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An adjustable pressure relief valve is dis- closed comprising a valve body having an inlet and an outlet, a spherical valve seat associated with the inlet, a valve member having a mating spherical sealing surface configured to seal off the flow of fluids through the valve at the valve seat, a huddling chamber around the periphery of the mating spherical sealing surface, an adjustment screw supported in the valve body to allow rotational but not longitudinal movement of the adjustment screw with respect to the valve body, a compression member connected to the adjustment screw and mounted within the valve body which moves longitudinally with respect to the adjustment screw when the adjustment screw is rotated and a resilient member biased between the compression member and the valve member. In the preferred embodiment, the mating spherical sealing surface is provided by staking a spherical ball inside a cavity in the valve member, leaving portion of the ball exposed. The huddling chamber is provided by a ring placed beneath the ball which provides a close fit with the outside of the nozzel into which the seating surface is lapped.
