ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A shipping rack for transporting groups of flat sheets of frangible material, such as glass, on their edges and having at least two longitudinally movable A-frame sections intercon- nected by two adjustable diagonally disposed,cross braces or struts wherein each A-frame section has an elongated transverse horizontal base which has a pair of inwardly and downwardly in- clined surfaces extending from the ends thereof and a narrow up- right triangular framework mounted at the center of the base which provides a pair of oppositely facing inclined L-shaped supporting surfaces for supporting the groups of sheets on their edges. The opposing faces of the A-frame sections are each pro- vided with a pair of offset, vertically spaced pivot pin con- nections for attachment of the ends of the cross struts. The A-frame section at each end of the rack is provided with a se- lectively positionable restrainer or outrigger which contacts the ends of its respective group of glass sheets to prevent end- wise movement of the sheets relative to the rack. The outrig- gers are secured in a raised position by flexible straps dis- posed between the free end of the outrigger and the base of its opposed A-frame section. Also means are provided to secure the groups of flat sheets to the inclined supporting surfaces of the A-frame sections.
