The adjustable staircase (20), and its method of assembling, comprises a staircase frame structure (42) that includes two opposed parallel inclined stringers (44, 44a) rigidly secured to a building structure (46), a plurality of pivot pins (40, 40a) having parallel horizontal axes partially inserted into each of the stringers (44, 44a) at equally spaced intervals (L) and having a protruding extremity (48, 48a), the pins (40, 40a) determine two parallel lines with each pin (40) on one of the stringers (44) having a corresponding pin (40a) on the other stringers (44a) to form pair of co-linear pins (40, 40a). The spaced interval (L) between two adjacent pins (40, 40a) is adjusted according to pre-selected run and rise of the staircase (20). The latter also comprises a plurality of step modules (22) including a rectangular tread section (24), a vertical riser section (26) and two vertical end sections (28, 28a) each supporting an extremity of both tread (24) and riser (26) sections on its top (30, 30a) and front (32, 32a) edge respectively and having an inclined bottom edge (34, 34a) adapted to pivotally engage the protruding extremities (48, 48a) of one pair of pins (40, 40a). Each step module (22) is fixedly secured to the stringers (44, 44a) after being pivotally adjusted to a horizontal leveled position of the tread section (24) so as to form a rough staircase used for the early stages of the building process. Finally, at the end of the building process, a plurality of covering up members (70, 66, 68) are fixedly attached onto their respective tread (24), riser (26), end sections (28, 28a) and to the frame structure (42) to provide a proper surface finish of the staircase (20).
La présente invention concerne un escalier réglable (20) et son procédé d'assemblage, qui comprend une structure de charpente d'escalier (42) comportant deux limons inclinés parallèles opposés (44, 44a) fixés rigides à une structure de construction (46), une pluralité de chevilles pivots (40, 40a) possédant des axes horizontaux parallèles partiellement insérés dans chacun des limons (44, 44a) à des intervalles réguliers (L) et possédant une extrémité qui fait saillie (48, 48a), lesquelles chevilles (40, 40a) déterminent deux lignes parallèles, à chaque cheville (40) placée sur l'un des limons (44) correspondant une cheville (40a) placée sur l'autre limon (44a) de façon qu'elles forment une paire de chevilles co-linéaires (40, 40a). L'intervalle régulier (L) entre deux chevilles adjacentes (40, 40a) est réglé en fonction d'une pente présélectionnée de l'escalier (20). L'escalier précité comprend également une pluralité de modules de marche (22) comportant une partie giron rectangulaire (24), une partie contremarche verticale (26) et deux parties verticales d'extrémité (28, 28a) supportant chacune une extrémité des parties giron (24) et contremarche (26) sur leur bord supérieur (30, 30a) et antérieur (32, 32a) respectivement, et possédant un bord inférieur incliné (34, 34a) apte à s'engager par pivotement sur les extrémités en saillie (48, 48a) d'une paire de chevilles (40, 40a). Chaque module de marche (22) est attaché fixe aux limons (44, 44a) après avoir été réglé sur une position horizontale mise à niveau de la partie giron (24) de façon que l'on obtient un escalier brut utilisé dans les premières étapes du processus de construction. Enfin, au terme du processus de construction, on attache fixes une pluralité d'éléments de protection (70, 66, 68) sur les parties giron (24), contremarche (26) et d'extrémité (28, 28a) respectives afin d'obtenir un escalier (20) au fini de surface adéquat.
