A mechanism is disclosed for effecting the relative angular adjustment of a pair of coupled members. A rotor is mounted on an axle that is mounted on one member, the rotor having a planar face on one side that has an arcuate groove formed therein such that the radial distance between the groove and the axle varies in a gradual manner with variation in angle about the axle. A pin or the like protuberance is mounted on the other member of the pair so as to enter and be slidingly engaged by the groove. The arrangement is such that rotation of the rotor causes relative angular movement of the members, but pressure between the members will not cause the rotor to turn. The application of this mechanism to the adjustment of keyboard platforms and monitor supports is disclosed.
