An adjustable support wheel mechanism for a sliding door is described. The mechanism comprises a housing adapted to be secured in a respective one of at least opposed lower corners of a sliding door frame. The door frame is adapted for displacement between a lower guide rail and a top guide channel of a sliding door frame. A wheel support pivot lever is secured on a pivot in the housing. A wheel is rotatably secured to the lever and aligned with a bottom aperture of the housing. The wheel has a peripheral track engaging face. The lever and the wheel are biased inwardly from the housing away from the aperture, and a wedge element is adjustably displaced within the housing to pivot the lever to vary the position of the wheel with respect to the aperture and to tension a sliding door between the top guide channel and the bottom guide rail and to permit ease of removal of the sliding door therefrom.
