A guide and method of using the guide for positioning within a patient between vertebral members for contouring each of the members. The guide comprises a first section (20) and a second section (30). A first edge (22) is positioned along an edge of the first section, and a second edge (32) is positioned along an edge of the second section. One or more elongated rods (42) extend through the sections. One or both of the sections are movable along the rods to adjust a spacing between the first edge and the second edge. When positioned within the patient, the first edge is aligned along a first vertebral member (210) and the second edge is aligned along a second vertebral member (220). A manner of locking the sections is included for preventing the sections from moving relative to each other once the first and second edges are aligned within the patient.
Cette invention concerne un guide ainsi qu'un procédé d'utilisation de ce guide destiné à être positionné chez un patient entre des éléments vertébraux afin qu'il entoure chacun de ces éléments. Ce guide comprend une première partie (20) et une seconde partie (30). Un premier bord (22) est positionné le long d'un bord de la première partie et un second bord (32) est positionné le long d'un bord de la seconde partie. Une ou plusieurs tiges (42) allongées traversent ces parties. Une ou les deux parties peuvent se déplacer sur les tiges de manière à régler l'écartement entre le premier et le second bord. Lorsque le guide est mis en place, le premier bord est aligné sur un premier élément vertébral (210) et le second bord est aligné sur un second élément vertébral (220). Cette invention porte également sur un système de verrouillage des parties empêchant lesdites parties de se déplacer l'une par rapport à l'autre une fois les premier et second bords alignés dans le patient.
