An adjustable throttle is disclosed with which the mass flow within a rectangular flow channel or a flat flow channel with rounded marginal areas may be influenced. Because of its special design, the throttle has no parting plane perpendicular to the fluid flow direction. The channel height may be modified by this throttle, so that the fluid mass flow may be influenced by changing the local flow channel resistance as a function of its width without creating discontinuities in the flow channel. Because of this continuous change in the geometry of the flow channel, both in the direction of its width and in the flow direction, the whole flow channel is totally free from dead spots.

Une soupape d'étranglement réglable (6, 7, 8) permet de régler le courant volumique à l'intérieur d'un canal d'écoulement rectangulaire (3) ou d'un canal d'écoulement plat à zones marginales arrondies. Par sa structure particulière, la soupape d'étranglement ne comprend pas de plan de séparation perpendiculaire au sens d'écoulement du fluide. La hauteur (H) du canal peut être modifiée par cette soupape d'étranglement, ce qui permet de modifier le courant volumique de fluide en modifiant la résistance locale du canal d'écoulement en fonction de la largeur, sans créer des discontinuités dans le canal d'écoulement. Compte tenu de cette variation en continu de la géométrie du canal d'écoulement aussi bien dans le sens de la largeur que dans le sens d'écoulement, l'ensemble du canal d'écoulement (1, 2, 3) est exempt de zones mortes.
