The present invention relates to an adjustable traffic control system for use in difficult terrains. The traffic control system of the present invention has an animated feature and fixture indicative of a human traffic control operative. The system uses a hollow body attached to an adjustable base enclosing electrical and mechanical devices for operation of the control operative. A synchronized movement of both the features and fixtures animates the operative to give occupants in vehicular traffic a clearer and visually approachable indication to move forward or stop.
