A snowmobile comprising a window panel assembly in generally overlying relation to the ledge of the window panel assembly and including a curved windshield panel and being generally constructed and arranged to protect the driver and passenger from exposure to wind when the snowmobile is being driven by the ground engaging endless loop. The window panel assembly is mounted for movement between 1) a lowered operative position in which a lower marginal edge portion of the window panel assembly is in a lowered limiting position and 2) a raised operative position in which the lower marginal edge portion is moved to a raised limiting position generally through a space occupied by the window panel assembly in the lowered position thereof. Spacing closing structure is provided to ensure that the space that was occupied by the lower marginal edge portion of the window panel assembly is closed when in the raised position thereof, Manually actuated releasable locking structure is provided to selectively lock the window panel assembly in any operative position of movement with respect to the ledge of the snowmobile.
