- 13 - ADJUSTABLE WINGED GARDEN HOE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A hoe comprises a flat plate which has a sharpened blade fully surrounding the plate. A front edge of the plate includes a central concave portion and two convex portions extending from points on either side of the concave portion outwardly and rearwardly to a side point at which the front surface converges with the rear surface. The rear surface is defined by two con- cave portions and a central point lying along the same line as the side points. A conventional elongate handle is attached to a lug on top of the plate to allow a pivoting action of the handle relative to the plate. The specific shape of the plate allows hoeing forwardly, rearwardly and sidewardly and the triangular points defined at the sides of the device can be used for edging, digging weeds. The three points at the rear surface can be used in a raking action for example for hilling potatoes.
