A wood processing device having a spinning wood processing head having one or more spaced apart knives mounted on said spinning head for processing wood. The knives, upon contacting said wood, form a curved cut surface in said wood being processed. At least one limit surface is adjustably mounted between said one or more knives on said spinning head, said limit surface being sized and shaped to limit abnormal movement of said wood during processing. An adjustor for adjusting a position of said limit surface is provided to permit said limit surface to limit abnormal movement of said wood over a range of operating conditions. In a preferred embodiment the limiter is curved. A method of adjusting a wood processing head is also disclosed.
Dispositif de traitement du bois ayant une tête de filage pour le traitement du bois par rotation présentant un ou plusieurs couteaux espacés montés sur ladite tête de filage pour traitement du bois. Dès la mise en contact avec ledit bois, les couteaux forment une surface de coupe incurvée dans le bois en cours de traitement. Au moins une surface limite est montée de manière réglable entre un ou plusieurs des couteaux sur ladite tête de filage, ladite surface limite étant dimensionnée et configurée pour limiter le mouvement anormal du bois pendant le traitement. Un dispositif de réglage permettant d'ajuster une position de la surface limite est prévu afin de permettre à ladite surface limite de limiter le mouvement anormal du bois dans une gamme de conditions de fonctionnement. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le limiteur est incurvé. On décrit également un procédé de réglage d'une tête de traitement du bois.
