Adjuvant compositions for modulating an immune response to an antigen administered to a host comprise a mineral salt adjuvant and at least one other adjuvant. The compositions provide an adjuvanting effect on an antigen which is greater than the adjuvanting effect attainable by one of the adjuvants alone. An antigen is covalently bonded to a glycolipid analog to provide a discrete molecule which exhibits an enhanced adjuvanting effect on the antigen which is greater than the adjuvanting effect attainable in the absence of such covalent bonding.

L'invention concerne des compositions d'adjuvant pour moduler une réponse immunitaire à un antigène administré à un hôte, qui comprennent un adjuvant à base de sel minéral et au moins un autre adjuvant. Ces compositions produisent un effet adjuvant sur un antigène qui est plus important que celui obtenu avec un seul des adjuvants. Un antigène est lié de manière covalente avec un analogue glycolipidique, de façon à former une molécule distincte produisant un effet adjuvant accru sur l'antigène par rapport à celui obtenu en l'absence de ladite liaison covalente.
