Disclosed are methods for improving various aberrant metabolic indices in mammals including humans by administration of muscarinic (particularly M1) receptor antagonists alone or in combination with prolactin inhibiting compounds. Preferably the administration takes place at a predetermined time (or, if a combination of muscarinic receptor antagonist and prolactin inhibitor is used, at different predetermined times) during a 24-hour period when the administration is effective (or its effect more pronounced). The invention has application in the treatment of lipid and glucose metabolism disorders.
L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant d'améliorer les divers indices métaboliques aberrants chez les mammifères, y compris l'homme, en administrant, seuls ou avec des composés inhibiteurs de la prolactine, des antagonistes des récepteurs muscariniques (notamment M1). La substance est administrée de préférence à un moment prédéterminé (ou, si l'on utilise une association d'antagonistes des récepteurs muscariniques et d'inhibiteurs de la prolactine, à différents moments prédéterminés), au cours d'une période de 24 heures, où l'administration est efficace (ou ses effets plus prononcés). L'invention est utilisée dans le traitement des troubles du métabolisme des lipides et du glucose.
