A method for preventing or treating restenosis and for preventing the recurrence or progression of coronary heart disease is provided. The method involves administration of a selected active agent to a patient following coronary intervention, e.g., coronary artery bypass surgery, endarterectomy, heart transplantation, heart balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, laser ablation or endovascular stenting. The active agent comprises cis-resveratrol, trans-resveratrol, a mixture thereof, or a pharmacologically acceptable salt, ester, amide, prodrug or analog thereof. Administration may be oral, parenteral, or the like. Pharmaceutical compositions for use in conjuction with the therapeutic method are also provided.

Procédé servant à prévenir ou à traiter la resténose, ainsi qu'à prévenir la récurrence ou la progression d'une coronaropathie. Ce procédé consiste à administrer un agent actif sélectionné à un patient venant de subir une intervention coronarienne, par exemple, un pontage coronarien, une endartériectomie, une transplantation cardiaque, une angioplastie percutanée luminale, une athérectomie, une ablation au laser ou la pose d'un extenseur endovasculaire. Cet agent actif est composé de cis-resveratrol, trans-resveratrol, un de leurs mélanges ou un de leurs sels, esters, amides, promédicaments ou analogues acceptables sur le plan pharmaceutique. L'administration peut s'effectuer par voie orale ou parentérale, entre autres. L'invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques conçues pour être associées au procédé thérapeutique.
