ABSTRACT Admixture compositions for hydraulic cement compositions are disclosed which comprise a borate ester of a polyhydroxy compound and a hydraulic cement water-reducing agent. The inventive admixtures provide increased slump retention in hydraulic cement compositions while causing only a relatively minimal increase in the initial and final setting times of the cement mix.
