ABSTRACT The invention is concerned with a device for the removal or recovery of gases or vapours of solvents from a process medium by adsorption with an adsorbent mate- rial and the regeneration of the adsorbent material by water vapour. The device of the invention comprises a vessel including an adsorption chamber for containing the adsorbent material, the adsorption chamber being in flow communi- cation with upper and lower connection chambers provided respectively with inlet and outlet means for the process medium. The vessel is associated with means for esta- blishing a flow of the process medium from top to bottom. The adsorption chamber and upper connection chamber have a single wall structure having one or more layers with at least one extruded inner layer made of corrosion- and diffusion-resistant plastics material and the lower connection chamber is made of metallic material.
