Battery powered equipment is provided with a controller which monitors the voltage supplied by the battery. Should the battery voltage drop below a preset level when the equipment is inactive, the controller disconnects non- essential loads of the equipment from the battery to conserve what charge remains in the battery. When used with a motor vehicle the controller may be tied into the security system and disable the ignition during inactive periods unless the proper reactivation signal is received.

Les équipements alimentés par une batterie sont dotés d'un dispositif de contrôle qui surveille la tension fournie par la batterie. Si la tension de la batterie chute au-dessous d'un niveau prédéterminé lorsque l'équipement est au repos, le dispositif de contrôle déconnecte de la batterie des éléments non essentiels des équipements de manière à conserver la charge restant dans la batterie. Lorsqu'il est utilisé avec un véhicule à moteur, le dispositif de contrôle peut être intégré au système de sécurité et invalider l'allumage pendant les périodes de non-fonctionnement, à moins que le signal adapté de réactivation ne soit reçu.
