With an aim to optimize propylene production, petroleum oil such as gas oil is catalytically cracked by contacting the oil with catalyst mixture consisting of a base cracking catalyst containing an stable Y-type zeolite and small amounts of rare-earth metal oxide, and an additive containing a shape-selective zeolite, in a down-flow type fluid catalytic cracking apparatus having a regeneration zone, a separation zone, and a stripping zone, wherein conversion of hydrocarbon occurs under relatively severe conditions. According to this fluid catalytic cracking process, the production of light-fraction olefins such as propylene is maximized by applying appropriate process control, monitoring, and optimizing systems. Process model and historical data to test a predictive system can provide early warning of potential performance degradation and equipment failure in the FCC unit.

L'invention vise à optimiser la production de propylène, et dans ce but, le pétrole, tel que le gazole, subit un craquage catalytique par mise en contact de l'huile avec un mélange de catalyseur constitué d'un catalyseur de craquage de base contenant une zéolite stable de type Y et de petites quantités d'oxyde métallique de terres rares et d'un additif contenant une zéolite à sélectivité de forme, dans un appareil de craquage catalytique de fluide à courant descendant renfermant une zone de régénération, une zone de séparation et une zone d'épuration, où la conversion de l'hydrocarbure se passe dans des conditions relativement difficiles. Selon ce procédé de craquage catalytique de fluide, la production de fractions légères d'oléfines, telles que le propylène, est maximisée par application de systèmes appropriés de surveillance, d'optimisation et de commande de processus. Le modèle de processus et les données historiques testant un système de prévision constituent un avertissement précoce de la dégradation du rendement et des pannes d'équipements de l'unité FCC.
