ABSTRACT The invention disclosed relates to an apparatus for use in the advanced biological treatment of waste water or sewage. The apparatus described includes a conically shaped aeration chamber wherein the sewage is subjected to activated sludge and a plurality of settling chambers through which the sewage is passed. The treated water is removed from the settling chambers and sludge is re-cycled back into the aeration chamber by means of an aerator.
