A system for automatically pausing a video program in response to detection of the occurrence of a communications event, audio communications event, interactive services event, or triggering event. In response to an incoming phone call, message, web page, or other communications information, the system pauses the video program and displays an indication of the occurrence of the communications, audio communications, or other event. In response to an outgoing communications such as a request for information or services, the system pauses the video program. The system also buffers the video programming while paused, permitting a user to replay missed portions of the video programming. Alternatively, the system waits for a triggering event, which includes the user's access to the audio communicants, communications, or other event, in order to pause the video program. The audio (voice) portion of a phone call or voice mail message is converted to text for display to a recipient of the call.
L'invention concerne un système permettant d'interrompre automatiquement un programme vidéo en réponse à la détection d'un événement de communications, d'un événement d'audio-communications, d'un événement de services interactifs, ou d'un événement déclencheur. En réponse à un appel téléphonique, un message, une page Web ou d'autres informations de communication entrantes, le système interrompt le programme vidéo et affiche une indication relative à la présence de l'événement de communication, de télécommunications ou d'un autre événement. En réponse à des communications sortantes, telles qu'une demande d'informations ou de services, le système interrompt le programme vidéo. Le système met par ailleurs en mémoire tampon le programme vidéo interrompu, ce qui permet à un utilisateur de repasser les parties non visualisées dudit programme. Comme alternative, le système attend un événement déclencheur, qui comprend l'accès de l'utilisateur à l'événement de communications radio, à l'événement de communications, ou à un autre événement, afin d'interrompre le programme vidéo. La partie audio (vocale) d'un appel téléphonique ou d'un message vocal est transformée en texte pour être affichée au destinataire de l'appel.
