An advanced sound reducing tape (10) includes a surface treatment (15) which results is reduced noise when the surface treatment (15) comes into contact with various materials. The surface treatment (15) comprises an arrangement of ridges (16) and depressions disposed across a surface (13, 14) of the tape (10). The tape (10) is vinyl based and therefore low in cost while providing a similar noise reduction as convention cloth tapes. The tape (10) is typically utilized on a harness within an automobile and reduces squeakes when the harness including the tape (10) comes into contact with interior portions of the vehicle which are typically polypropylene, ABS plastic or steel.

Cette surface traitée (15) comporte un dispositif de stries (16) et de dépressions disposées de manière transversale par rapport à une surface (13, 14) de la bande (10). Cette bande (10) est constituée de vinyle; elle est donc peu coûteuse tout en offrant une meilleure insonorisation que les bandes classiques en tissu. Elle est destinée spécialement à envelopper les faisceaux de câbles dans les automobiles et à prévenir les bruits parasites lorsque ce faisceau de câbles ainsi revêtu vient au contact de parties internes du véhicule constituées en général de polypropylène, de matière plastique ABS ou d'acier.
