Currently all management frames are treated as high priority when QoS is enabled in a IEEE 802.11 network. Under certain conditions, excessive management traffic can cause and overall reduction in the performance of an IEEE 802.11 network. This submission introduces a new frame type called prioritized action frame which allows certain action frames (e.g. measurement requests and reports) to be prioritized under conditions where they may affect the overall performance of the network.
