AERATION DEVICE ABSTRACT The invention concerns an aeration device and process used in aerating particulate materials and in the aerobic composting of organic wastes, to facilitate the ingress of ambient air into, and the egress of air out of, a container having otherwise a single access opening. The aeration device functions by having separate air flow channels for ingress air and egress air and being constructed to beneficiallly employ the energy in the ambient air flow to assist movement of air within the container. When employed in composting, the aeration device facilitates maintaining an active aerobic composting environment.
