ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention discloses a new aeration device for use with biomass composting tanks. An external manifold is provided in which air under pressure flows and from which extend a number of pipe branches equal in number to the number of aeration orifices located at the bottom of the digester. The pipe branches all have the same pressure loss which exceeds the pressure loss of the air passing through the biomass. Each pipe branch is connected through a cut off cock, to a source of compressed air. This structure effectively allows for the passing of the air within the mass being treated in a uniform and continuous way and prevents the air orifices from being clogged thus representing an improvement over the prior art.
