ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for closing an exposed area of aerial cable is described. A foraminous barrier is placed around the cable adjacent the exposed area. A cover is placed thereover. The foraminous barrier permits water to pass through the cable without accumulating at the exposed area. However, debris, dirt, and other contaminants are prevented from entering the exposed area.
