An apparatus (110) for producing aerial images having a combination of plastic spherical mirrors (45), beamsplitter polarizing filters (51), and light sources (115). An object (DO) to be displayed is illuminated, and its image is partially reflected by the beamsplitter (5 to a focusing mirror (45) and reflected to an aerial position (VI). A polarizer (CP) prevents ambient lights or images from degrading interfering with the aerial images.
