An improved biomass waste treatment process wherein an aerobic biological reaction takes place in a vertical chamber having a first portion defining a first zone and a second portion defining a second zone below said first zone, said process comprising feeding a first biomass influent having a first biomass concentration to the first zone; feeding a first oxygen-containing gaseous stream to the first zone to effect mixing of the first oxygen- containing gaseous stream with the first biomass influent to effect circulation in unidirectional upward flow by gas lift and bio-oxidation to provide a first biomass effluent having a second biomass concentration; feeding first biomass effluent in plug flow mode to the second zone; feeding a second oxygen-containing gaseous stream to the second zone to effect mixing of the second oxygen-containing gaseous stream with the first biomass effluent without re-circulation to the first zone to effect bio-oxidation and provide a second biomass effluent and removing second biomass effluent from the second zone.
L'invention concerne un procédé amélioré de traitement de déchets de la biomasse, dans lequel une réaction biologique aérobie a lieu dans une chambre verticale comportant une première partie formant une première zone et une seconde partie formant une seconde zone située sous la première. Ce procédé consiste à amener dans la première zone un premier influent de biomasse possédant une première concentration de biomasse; à amener dans la première zone un premier courant gazeux contenant de l'oxygène de sorte que le mélange de ce premier courant gazeux contenant de l'oxygène avec le premier influent de biomasse soit assuré et que la circulation de ce mélange s'effectue sous forme d'un écoulement vertical unidirectionnel par gazosiphon et bio-oxydation afin d'obtenir un premier effluent de biomasse présentant une seconde concentration de biomasse; à amener un premier effluent de biomasse dans la seconde zone selon un mode à écoulement à bouchons; à amener un second courant gazeux contenant de l'oxygène dans la seconde zone de sorte que le mélange de ce second courant gazeux contenant de l'oxygène avec le premier effluent de biomasse soit assuré sans recirculation dans la première zone, qu'une bio-oxydation soit réalisée et qu'un second effluent de biomasse soit produit, et à retirer ce dernier de la seconde zone.
