Abstract: The present invention is directed to a novel agent for the treatment of kidney diseases, which comprises as an active ingredient a 2-oxo-imidazolidine compound of the formula: Image (I) wherein R1 is a lower alkyl group, R2 is a lower alkyl group, R3 is a phenyl-substituted lower alkyl group, and R4 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
