ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Disclosed are new agents for regulating plant growth, containing an effective amount of at least one cyclohexenone derivative of the formula Image (I), where R1 is a 5- to 7-membered heterocycle having 1 to 3 identical or different hetero-atoms or ring members selected from the group consisting of N, O, S, SO or SO2 and which may contain up to 3 substituents from the group consisting of alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthio, each of 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl, cyclohexoxy, phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by methyl, chloro or methoxy, phenoxy which is unsubstituted or substituted by methyl, chloro or methoxy, halogen, nitro or dialkylamino, R2 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxyalkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cyclopropyl, benzyl, phenylethyl or acyloxy- alkyl of up to 6 carbon atoms, and R3 is hydrogen, alkoxy- carbonyl of 2 to 5 carbon atoms or cyano, or a salt thereof. Also disclosed is a process for regulating plant growth, using a derivative of formula I.
