Agents for repelling insects and mites A b s t r a c t It has been found that the substituted .alpha.,.omega.- amino-alcohol derivatives, some of which are known, of the formula I Image (I) in which X represents hydrogen, COR11, COOR12 or R13, R1 represents optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl radicals R2, R11, R12 and R13 are identical or different and represent optionally substituted alkyl or alkenyl radicals, R3 to R10 are identical or different and repres- ent hydrogen, or represent optionally substituted alkyl radicals, and wherein R2 and R3 or R3 and R7 or R3 and R5 or R5 and R7, together with the atoms to which they are bonded, can also form an optionally substituted monocyclic ring, and n and m are identical or different and denote 0 or 1, with the proviso that X does not represent hydro- gen or R13 if n and m represent 0, have a powerful insect- and mite-repelling action (repel- lent action).
