ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Mini-pellets made of raw material derives from fine powder iron ores are indurated, and possess the property of diffusion bonding. A plurality of these treated mini-pellets are combined with calcium ferrites at the surface layers thereof. This produces agglomerated ores in which the main grain size of the fine powder iron ores are not more than 5 mm. The agglomerated ores are subjected to a primary pelletization with a flux, and solid fuels are coated thereon in a secondary pelletization to produce mini-pellets of 3 to 9 mm diameter. The mini-pellets obtained are subjected to induration in a travelling grate sintering furnace. The agglomerated ores and the method according to the present invention, enable to select the raw materials from a wide range of grain sizes. The blow capacity may only be small, the yield of agglomerated ores may be increased, and the resulting products have improved properties because of high RI and low RDI.
