HOE 90/F 372 Abstract of the disclosure Agistatins, novel metabolites from Fusarium sp., a process for their preparation, and their use With the aid of a Fusaxium strain, it is possible to produce novel metabolites of the formula I below Image in which R1 is hydrogen or hydroxyl, R2 is hydroxyl or an oxo group, R3 is methoxy or hydroxyl or, together with R1, forms an ether bridge, and R4 is hydrogen or hydroxyl, R5 is hydrogen or, together with R4, is an additional bond, and R6 is hydrogen or, together with R3, is an additional bond. In particular, the metabolites are to be employed for inhibiting cholesterol biosynthesis.
