Abstract N-(heterocyclicaminocarbonyl)arylsulfonamides and thienylsulfonamides in which the heterocyclic radical is disubstituted; e.g., N-[[4-(2-methoxyethoxy)- 6-methylpyrimidin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]-2-nitrobenzene- sulfonamide and N-[[4-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-6-methyl- pyrimidin-2-yl]aminocarbonyl]-2-nitrobenzenesulfonamide; are useful for the regulation of plant growth and as pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides.
