An airlock latch assembly (20) for restraining a disk drive actuator when the disk drive is subjected to rotary shock forces has a first member (21) and a second member (28) rotatably mounted to the disk drive base (44). The second member (28) engages the first member (21), preventing the first member (21) from disengaging with the actuator assembly (27) while the disk is not spinning. The first member (21) and the second member (28) are mechanically related such that one member can rotate in one direction only when the other member rotates in the opposite direction. The latch assembly (20) also restrains the actuator assembly (27) in its proper position when the disk drive is subjected to linear shock forces.
Mécanisme de verrouillage pneumatique (20) permettant de limiter le déplacement d'un actionneur d'unité de disque lorsque celle-ci est soumise à des forces d'impact rotatives. Ce mécanisme de verrouillage comprend un premier élément (21) et un deuxième élément (28) montés rotatifs sur la base de l'unité de disque (44). Le deuxième élément (28) est en prise avec le premier élément (21), l'empêchant ainsi de se dégager de l'ensemble actionneur (27) lorsque le disque est à l'arrêt. Le premier élément (21) et le deuxième élément (28) présentent une liaison mécanique telle qu'un élément ne peut tourner dans un sens que lorsque l'autre élément tourne en sens inverse. Le mécanisme de verrouillage (20) limite également le déplacement de l'ensemble actionneur (27) dans sa position proprement dite lorsque l'unité de disque est soumise à des forces d'impact linéaires.
