The present invention provides an air cleaner (2) suitable for forced air open- ventilation systems used to cool electrical machines (1). The air cleaner (2) comprises an air chamber (12) with a first end where air is drawn in from the surroundings, via an inlet (16), by the open- ventilation system and a second end, opposite the first end, where air is drawn out of the air chamber (12), via a first outlet (18), by the open- ventilation system. A rotating means (14) is contained within the air chamber (12) and may be driven to rotate about an axis (22) that extends between the first end and the second end of the chamber (12). When driven to rotate, the rotating means (14) applies a centrifugal force to any particles contained in the air entering the air chamber (12) and throws them radially outwards from the central axis (22). These particles are then drawn out of the air chamber (12), via at least one second outlet (20) formed adjacent to a radially outer edge of the rotating means (14), by a high- velocity outlet stream of the open- ventilation system.
La présente invention concerne un épurateur d'air (2) conçu pour des systèmes de ventilation ouverts à air pulsé utilisés pour refroidir des machines électriques (1).
