An air diffuser for diffusing conditioned air into a room has a diffuser body mounted in a housing to define an air channel which narrows towards the outlet end of the housing to produce a venturi-like effect causing the air to speed up as it leaves the diffuser so that the conditioned air can penetrate stratified layers of air in the room. The diffuser body is of tapered form having a narrow upper end portionand a wider lower end portion disposed in the open, outlet end of the housing. The diffuser body has a surface which faces the internal surface of a sloping side wall of the housing and which is inclined at an angle to the vertical greater than that of the sloping side wall of the housing to provide the narrowing air channel. The diffuser body is adjustably mounted for movement relative to the housing so that the flow of conditioned air leaving the outlet end of the housing can be adjusted.
Diffuseur permettant de répandre de l'air conditionné dans une pièce. Le diffuseur est monté dans un logement afin de former un passage d'air allant en s'amincissant en direction de la sortie du logement en vue de produire un effet similaire à l'effet Venturi et de provoquer l'accélération de l'air au moment ou il quitte le diffuseur, de sorte que l'air conditionné puisse pénétrer les couches d'air stratifié de la pièce. Le corps du diffuseur est effilé et présente une partie supérieure étroite et une partie inférieure large placée dans la sortie ouverte du logement. Une des surfaces du corps du diffuseur fait face à la surface interne d'une paroi inclinée du logement et est inclinée pour former un angle, par rapport à la verticale, supérieur à celui de la paroi latérale inclinée du logement, afin de créer le passage d'air effilé. Le corps du diffuseur se fixe de façon réglable, ce qui permet de le déplacer par rapport au logement et de régler le débit d'air conditionné provenant de la sortie d'air du logement.
