A room air conditioner (10) of the type having a partition (26), which divides the indoor (12) and outdoor sections (14) of the air conditioning unit (10). The partition (26) has an exhaust opening for exhausting room air into the outdoor section. A one-piece exhaust actuation device (25) includes an elongated actuating arm. The arm has a first end (120) extending forwardly of the support structure, an intermediate section (122) extending in close proximity to the support structure and through the second opening into the outdoor section. A second end of the actuation device has a curved section (148) configured to extend into the outdoor section (14) in a first direction and to substantially reverse direction with the end of the curved section (148) adjacent to the outdoor section (14) side of the exhaust opening in the partition (26). The end of the curved section carries a door (152) thereupon which is configured to block air flow through the exhaust opening (106) in the partition when it is in confronting relation therewith. Means are provided on the support structure for pivotally supporting the intermediate section (122) of the actuating arm (25) at a position such that lateral movement of the first end (27) of the arm will result in movement of the door (152) selectively between a position in confronting relation with the exhaust opening and a position allowing free exhaust flow through the exhaust opening.

La paroi de séparation (26) possède une ouverture destinée à l'évacuation de l'air présent dans la pièce vers la partie située à l'extérieur. Un dispositif de commande (25) d'évacuation en une seule pièce se présente sous forme d'un bras de commande allongé. Ledit bras possède une première extrémité (120) qui s'étend vers l'avant à partir de la structure de support, et une partie intermédiaire (122) qui s'étend adjacente à la structure de support et passe par la seconde ouverture pour pénétrer dans la partie située à l'extérieur. Une seconde extrémité du dispositif de commande possède une partie incurvée (148) configurée pour s'étendre dans la partie extérieure (14) dans une première direction puis dans une direction inverse, l'extrémité de la partie incurvée (148) étant adjacente au côté extérieur (14) de l'ouverture d'évacuation ménagée dans la paroi de séparation (26). L'extrémité de la partie incurvée comporte une porte (152) qui est configurée pour bloquer le flux d'air passant par l'ouverture d'évacuation (106) ménagée dans la paroi de séparation lorsqu'elle se trouve placée devant ladite ouverture. La structure de support comporte des moyens destinés au support pivotant de la partie intermédiaire (122) du bras d'actionnement (25), placés de manière telle que le mouvement latéral de la première extrémité (27) du bras entraîne un mouvement de la porte (152) sélectivement entre une position de fermeture face à l'ouverture d'évacuation et une position permettant au flux d'évacuation de s'écouler librement par l'ouverture d'évacuation. -
