AIR FILTER AND METHOD OF MATERIAL SUPPORT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A first layer of an air-transmitting media or support is applied onto a heated forming die contoured to define a plurality of pockets. A mating heated die is pressed against that forming die with the media disposed thereinbetween, and the pressure is maintained until corresponding pockets are formed in the media. After the media has cooled, the pockets in the media are filled with particles of air treatment material. A second layer of air-transmitting media is then applied upon the forming die in covering relationship to the particles, after which a heated sealing die, contoured to mate with the forming die and aligned to allow mating of respective mutually-facing surfaces through said layers, is pressed toward the forming die. The pressure is maintained for a time sufficient to obtain a non-permeable seal around each of the pockets.
