An air filtration system (55) for an internal combustion engine wherein the air filter (56) has an exit orifice (64) for sealingly engaging the air intake duct (66) of a carburetor via a friction-fit. The friction-fit provides an integrated seal between the orifice (64) and duct (66). The friction-fit can be provided by a plurality of ridges formed along the interior surface of the orifice or by decreasing the cross-sectional area of the orifice. Decreasing the cross-sectional area of the orifice is accomplished by providing a plurality of stepped diameters of a bottom surface material or a surface that conically slopes inward towards the cavity. In addition, the air filter can be secured to a platform of an engine by holding arm (70) having a hook shaped distal end with a catch (80) that can be disengaged by pulling at a grip.

L'invention concerne un système de filtration d'air (55) utilisé dans un moteur à combustion interne, dans lequel le filtre à air (56) présente un orifice de sortie (64) permettant d'enclencher de manière étanche le conduit d'arrivée d'air (66) de carburateur via un ajustement serré. L'ajustement serré permet de former un verrou intégré étanche, entre l'orifice (64) et le conduit (66). L'ajustement serré peut être constitué d'un ensemble de rainures formées le long de la surface intérieure de l'orifice ou en diminuant la section de coupe de l'orifice. On peut réaliser la diminution de la section de coupe de l'orifice, en fournissant plusieurs diamètres échelonnés d'un matériau de surface de fond ou une surface qui est inclinée coniquement à l'intérieur, vers la cavité. De plus, on peut fixer le filtre à air à une plate-forme d'un moteur au moyen d'un bras de soutien (70) possédant une extrémité distale en forme de crochet avec une languette (80) pouvant se désenclencher en tirant sur une poignée.
